Jeffrey ‘Jeff’ Meyer
Jeff Meyer was born Feb. 7, 1970, to Ken and Nyla Meyer. Jeff grew up on the Rathdrum Prairie. He attended Lakeland School District, participated in Little League and Jr. Tackle in his early years, then went on to junior varsity football and varsity wrestling. He was a wresting State Champion in 1988.
He loved fishing, hunting and being outdoors, especially with Grandpa (Les Cady), who taught him how to cut the winter’s wood and bring it in by block and cable. Jeff coached Little League and enjoyed bowling and gardening. He had a hand in restoring old pickups, and had much pride in his 1950 Chevy. Jeff enjoyed good conversation and could banter with the best.
On Oct. 30, 1999, Jeff married Lori Banister. According to Jeff, she had the cutest little red-headed daughter, Kayla. They bought a house and were blessed with two sons, James and Brett.
Jeff was a carpet man who worked with his dad until his dad retired. His brother, Dave, gave him a hand now and then. A family of rug rats!
His sister, Machelle Kay, preceded him in leaving us. Jeff is survived by his wife, sons, stepdaughter, his parents, and brothers Todd and David Meyer.
Jeff is our Free Spirit! Service is at 1 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Interment is at Pinegrove Cemetery in Rathdrum. Reception follows at Rathdrum Lions Club.
