GOP: Town Hall FYI

| April 19, 2017 1:00 AM

Thank you Sue Morgan for your kind suggestion and your interest in KCRCC-hosted Town Halls. I take responsibility for the notices of the April 8 Town Hall. There were several other line ads sprinkled into sections of the same Nickel’s Worth, and one larger “Border Ad.” I expected another large turnout to fill the largest yet venue.

Your compelling “Calendar” suggestion makes sense if we can count on space for the wording we desire. The “Calendar” is a public service that is one of the last things to be fit in before printing. The size and possibility of any notice is dependent on remaining space. Still, I will try your suggestion going forward.

Eleven days before the April Town Hall, I believed that it was not going to happen. I and the subcommittee which I chair had not secured a backup venue for the possibility of the legislative session going longer. It did. In the “11th hour” Alison McArthur of the (excellent) Post falls Senior Center notified me that the morning of April 8 was going to be available after all. We scrambled to be sure we would have legislators, and to get the word out.

The K.C.R.C.C. aims to host a Town Hall for our Kootenai County legislators on the last Saturday of each month that the Legislature is in session. The third Town Hall varies depending on the end of session date. See you next January!
