RATHDRUM — Wyatt Setian went 4 for 5 with four RBIs and four runs scored in the first game for the Post Falls Trojans in an 18-4 and 12-1 sweep of the Lakeland Hawks on Saturday at Corbit Field in Rathdrum.

Quin Bennett, Cameron McKeown and Brock Zeller each had two RBIs in the opener for Post Falls, which used a nine-run fourth inning to pull away. Jake Pfennigs struck out seven over four innings for Post Falls.

“Jake was spotting the ball well and overpowering early on,” Post Falls coach Mick Zeller said. “We had that long top of the fourth inning and when he came back out he was a little shaky as far as his control.”

Joe Strietzel had two RBIs in the first game for Lakeland.

Nate Buer had two RBIs in the second game for Post Falls (5-4), which hosts Coeur d’Alene in a doubleheader to open 5A Inland Empire League play next Saturday.

“It was good to get on the field finally,” said Zeller, whose team had practiced outside four times this week instead of inside. “We were able to hit outside this week, and that made a huge difference in the game today. We played good defense and did some good things today.”

Andrew Neilson and Jared McDaniel had two hits each in the second game for Lakeland (4-3), which travels to Lake City for a doubleheader on Monday.
