CDA: Address infrastructure
Dear Mayor Widmyer:
I am very concerned about the complete lack of infrastructure spending in striping roads throughout the city. Notwithstanding potholes; this is about repainting lands and pedestrian crosswalks.
It is dangerous and disgraceful that SO MANY roads have not been restriped in years.
For example, drive south on Fourth Street toward downtown … pedestrian crosswalks and lane designations are nonexistent. Same can be said of Third Street headed north.
My biggest concern is pedestrian crosswalks. I suggest you check out the corner of Kathleen and Ramsey adjacent to Ramsey School. Daily, kids cross this intersection and striped crosswalks do not exist. This is dangerous and carelessness by the city.
Mr. Mayor, take your city manager and drive through this beautiful city and take note of what I am writing to you and take action to fix it.
Sitting at a desk is not going to do the job.
We all understand that North Idaho weather can wreak havoc on the roads, but not restriping for years is sheer negligence.
I look forward to hearing from you.
