Tamara Kaye Goodson, 58

| September 28, 2016 9:00 PM

With a very heavy heart, I must say the world has lost a very strong, loving and compassionate woman. Tamara Kaye Goodson, 58, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, died at Kootenai Health around 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 22, 2016. After 10 years of relentless determination she succumbed to heart disease.

Tamara was born on April 14, 1958, in Kellogg, Idaho, to Vance and Betty Goodson. Since then she was married to David VanDitto with whom she had two sons, Eli and Gabriel VanDitto. Tamara was not married at the time of her passing.

Tamara left behind her two sons, Eli and Gabe; four grandchildren: Anthony, Lizzy, Allie and Jeremiah; her mother, Betty; her father, Vance; two brothers, Bob and Dick; many aunts, uncles and cousins; seven nieces and nephews; and an extraordinary number of friends.

For those who knew Tamara, she was always full of positive energy and saw good in everyone and everything. Her laughter was contagious and she could bring a smile to the faces of all who were around her. Tamara loved people and thrived on chatting with anyone who was in her presence. There wasn’t a person she’d met who didn’t love her, nor was there anyone she didn’t love in return. She truly enjoyed the simple things in life and absolutely loved camping, boating, waterfalls, sunsets and walks along the beach.

Tamara’s favorite holidays were Christmas, Fourth of July, and of course Halloween as she could see her grandkids dressed in their costumes. She also loved taking family pictures. No matter how reluctant we were, she would always manage to snap photos during family get-togethers, regardless of their significance. Above all, Tamara loved family; her dedication to family was unwavering. Tamara’s grandkids were her pride and joy and meant the world to her. Furthermore, she always welcomed a phone call or unplanned visit from family or friends regardless of the time of day. Mom, you will be missed dearly and remembered by all those whose lives you forever touched!

There will be a “Celebration of Life” gathering at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at the Broken Wheel in Kellogg, Idaho. Everyone is welcome. Food/beverage will be provided, but please feel free to bring anything you would like to contribute as we remember and reminisce Tamara’s life.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Tammy’s online memorial and sign her guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
