DEMOCRATS: Erosion of trust
What has happened to the Democratic Party? When I was younger (a long time ago) I was (as was my family) a Republican. I disagreed with many of the proposals of the Democrats, but I respected their rights and did not consider them dishonest or immoral.
Unfortunately, that has changed in the past couple of years. The blatant, obvious dishonesty, displayed in the party’s campaign and other publications, the support of a candidate who obviously has serious moral problems and the general tolerance of policies with very questionable moral standards that have been observed in our country for many, many years is very disappointing.
Couple that with their failure to admit the failures of some of their policies and programs. Example, the lack of support and improvement for blacks in the inner cities, the failure to support charter schools and improve the education of minorities, the explosions of welfare benefits to the point that many would rather be on welfare than hold a job. Their failure to attempt to control the corruption in Washington (the Republicans are not clean on this one). Also, the uncontrolled spending that has run up a debt which will destroy our economy if not controlled.
The fact that so many voters still support the Democratic Party tells me there is a general decline in the average level of moral character among party members. I may be wrong, but I no longer respect any Democrat.
