Ulen, a junior defender from Post Falls High and North Idaho College, was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, helping anchor the Vikings’ defense that recorded their fourth shutout of the season with a 1-0 win against Fort Hays State on Sept. 15. “Brady was instrumental with his leadership and his play on the field in our victory against Fort Hays State,” Western Washington coach Greg Brisbon said. “His ability to organize the back four and limit the opponent’s chances on target has been real impressive this season.” Western Washington, a Division II school in Bellingham, is 3-1-1 on the season.
