WACKOS: Scare away liberals

Steve Cameron’s column Sept. 1 about North Idaho’s image as a haven for right-wing nuts deserves a response.

He is right that this perception is unfair. But, this false image isn’t necessarily a negative.

1. It hasn’t slowed the rapid population growth in Kootenai County, people who want a gang-free, safe, peaceful lifestyle.

2. It may have discouraged ultra-liberal, air-headed San Francisco sanctuary city-loving rejects from moving here.

This has helped us preserve our “fly-over,” “guns and Bible,” pro-American values.

We don’t want to become North California. If we can scare liberals away, that’s to our benefit.
