RIGHTS: Beware the EO
Maureen Humphrey is obviously a devout Hillary Clinton supporter! Therefore, one must look at her reasons for writing the article “Why the Second Amendment is safe” with a jaundiced eye. She goes into great detail regarding the complexity for amending our Constitution. She hopes to convince fence sitters they have nothing to fear if Hillary Clinton is elected president because her anti-gun philosophy can’t impact the Second Amendment.
Ms. Humphrey chooses to deliberately ignore the fact this future president will appoint several Supreme Court Justices. The last two justices appointed to the Supreme Court by Obama have been radical progressives. For the most part the Supreme Court is evenly split; however, appointments by this future president will determine the future sway, liberal or conservative.
The Supreme Court ruled 5 to 4 that the Second Amendment applies to the individual. Liberal, progressive, anti-gun, anti-self-defense, lawyers and judges have argued the Second Amendment applies only to official State Militias i.e. State National Guard. Your individual right to firearm ownership and self-defense, guaranteed by the Second Amendment, will be gone if Clinton is elected.
Ms. Humphrey totally ignores abuse by Executive Order. Obama has proved presidents can circumvent Congress using these directives. President Franklin Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066 ordering the internment of Japanese and German citizens. There have been other imprisonments without due process by presidents. Impeachment for these abuses is almost impossible because of our two-party system. Similarly, high profile officials like the Clintons are immune from prosecution because they belong to the same party as the president, who controls all federal law enforcement,
Our legal system has evolved to accept constitutional violations as legal precedents. Although illegal, if not challenged or reviewed by the Supreme Court, this illegal action becomes directives for lower courts to follow. Our courts dependent upon their political affiliation can pick and choose which of these precedents to follow.
Our Constitutional Rights are tenuous at best under our current system. A vote for Hillary is a vote to disarm America. If you are comfortable with government employees being the only armed citizens, releasing of federal prisoners upon society, importing radical Muslims, and totally relying on law enforcement to protect your family from these wolves then vote for Hillary.
