OUCH: Appointment pain felt

| September 11, 2016 9:00 PM

I’m a 79-year-old senior lady on a fixed income. Like many low income people, I have gone to a dentist who charges by income. I went in last month to get my teeth cleaned. Instead I had a tooth pulled that had started to abscess, at no cost since they had charged me for it in January. Then they couldn’t tell which tooth was causing the pain so they didn’t pull it.

Last week I drove in from my home north of Rathdrum to have my teeth cleaned. I was five minutes late due to holiday traffic and construction on highways, so they canceled my appointment. I could understand if it had been 15 or 20 minutes, but feel this is way overboard, as I’ve waited 15 to 20 minutes on them. I will find a dentist who won’t treat poor people like second-class citizens.
