COEUR d’ALENE — Reilley Chapman, a sophomore making her debut at libero, had 25 digs as the host Lake City Timberwolves beat the Sandpoint Bulldogs 25-22, 25-18, 25-14 in nonleague play.

Chapman stepped in for junior Ashley Reyes, whose appendix burst last week.

“I thought Reilley did just awesome,” Lake City assistant coach Renee Bordelon said. “She played so hard back there; we didn’t even skip a beat.”

Ashley Kaufman had 12 kills, 17 digs and four aces for Lake City (10-1). Klaire Mitchell had 17 assists, 16 digs, four kills and two aces, and Arlaina Stephenson had 10 kills.

Laney Search had 10 kills, 22 assists and 13 digs for Sandpoint. Grace Hicks, Grace Kirscher and Kayla Newmann had six kills each. Kaitlan Ward had 15 digs, Neumann 14.

“Had some really great moments, but our inconsistency cost us,” Sandpoint coach Erin Roos said. “Lake City is a fantastic team with an impressive setter and libero. They really made it difficult for our attackers to earn kills. We made some impressive comebacks from really large deficits, which showed a lot of grit, but we waited too long to decide to compete.”

Lake City travels to Post Falls on Thursday.

Timberlake d. Lakeland

SPIRIT LAKE — The host Tigers rallied from way down to win the first set, then went on to sweep the Hawks, their Lakeland School District rival, 25-23, 25-15, 25-20 in nonleague play.

Matraca Rocheleau had 21 assists for Timberlake (3-2), which came back from an 18-7 deficit in the first set. Glori Cheevers and Jacqueline Mallet each had three kills, and Courtney Jurgens had seven digs.

Lakeland opens 4A Inland Empire League play Thursday at Moscow.

Timberlake returns to action Saturday at the Freeman Rip-A-Shot Tournament in Rockford, Wash.

Kootenai d. Cd’A Charter

HARRISON FLATS — Kaili Gentry had 11 kills and five digs as the host Warriors defeated the Panthers 25-19, 25-18, 25-15 in nonleague play.

Michaela LaFountaine had 10 digs and five kills for the Warriors, and Madison Napierala added 10 assists, five digs and two blocks.

“Charter had great outside attacks but our girls defended well and were able to counteract, throwing off their defense just enough to offset their plays,” Kootenai coach Mary Gentry said. “We also served at 92 percent, which is a huge improvement from last week’s game.”

Coeur d’Alene Charter (1-2) travels to Lakeside on Thursday.

Kootenai returns to action Saturday against Coeur d’Alene Charter, at Holy Family Catholic School in Coeur d’Alene.

Lakeside d. N.I. Christian

PLUMMER — Lillian Rhea had seven kills and two blocks, Corine Peone five aces as the Knights beat the visiting Royals 25-8, 25-22, 25-6 at Ron Miller Court.

Sativa Bohlman had six kills, Alyssa SiJohn 15 assists for Lakeside (2-0), which finished with 15 aces and a 98-percent serving percentage.

“We served really well and tough,” Lakeside coach Brad Veile said. “Offensively, we mixed the ball up a lot more than we had in earlier matches. We had a lot of players get some swings, and we weren’t as predictable.”

Lakeside hosts Coeur d’Alene Charter on Thursday.

North Idaho Christian (0-1) will face Pullman Christian on Sept. 15 at Holy Family Catholic School in Coeur d’Alene.
