Chamber to host seminar on new overtime regulations
Upcoming changes to the U.S. Department of Labor’s wage and hour regulations for overtime pay will be the subject of a lunchtime seminar being hosted by the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce.
Kara Heikkila, employment attorney for Hawley Troxell, will be the speaker at the seminar on Sept. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Coeur d’Alene Inn, 506 W. Appleway Ave.
Heikkila will offer an update on the final regulations and provide practical considerations to prepare for these changes. The new regulations go into effect Dec. 1 and require all workers making less than $47,476, including those in managerial positions, to be entitled to overtime pay. There are no exceptions to the rules for nonprofits.
Tickets are $20 and include lunch. Reserve a seat by Sept. 8. Contact Brenda Young at (208) 415-0110 or [email protected].
