HINZ: New scoreboard thanks to donors

To all of Jeff Hinz’s supporters,

This past summer our community lost a beloved Husband, Father, Coach and Teacher who touched so many of our lives. Jeff Hinz was a man of honor who demanded excellence, honesty and morality from everyone he encountered. In Coach Jeff Hinz’s memory, a memorial fund was established to purchase a new scoreboard for the football stadium at Post Falls High School. With the incredible generosity of our communities, near and far, and some corporate donors we have met our goal and are making this scoreboard a reality.

While we are unable to thank all of the many anonymous donors who gave so generously and without hesitation, we would like to extend a special thank you to a few of our community members and businesses who helped make this wish a reality: Sports Cellar, Knudtsen Chevrolet, Northwest Specialty Hospitals, PFHS graduating class of 2013, Quin Mitchell from LCHS and Tedder Industries. We would also like to give a special Thank You to Paul Seher who guided us through the process of making our scoreboard dream come to life and the NFL Foundation who generously donated to Jeff’s memorial.

We were able to dedicate the new scoreboard on Friday, Oct. 21, which was PFHS senior night where the Trojans played against the Coeur d’Alene Vikings, his Alma Mater and favorite rival.

We feel honored to have been a part of Jeff Hinz’s short life and to be part of a community who is willing to remember this man for his contributions both on and off the field. Jeff would be so proud of everyone coming together to make this happen. Jeff, we hope you are looking down right now and saying “It’s about time that scoreboard was replaced!”

We love you Jeff, you will never be forgotten!

SIGHT: Thank you for support

There are so many negative things in this world so I thought I would take the time to share a little something to help people realize that there are still good people in the world. To make a very long story short my husband fell on ice at the beginning of the year and nine months and nine eye surgeries/procedures later he is now blind in one eye but doing fine.

The reason why I am writing is because this ordeal has been pretty significant and horrible in our life. However, in the same token we have had an amazing amount of help and support by people that we never knew existed. He first went to the Eye Guys Optical when this all began. I didn’t realize that this business is locally owned. I also had no idea what an impact such great customer service would have in our lives.

Dr. Larry Breazeal, Hailey, Seth, Sandy, and Tauni are so extremely nice when you walk in. You can tell by the atmosphere that they truly care about their patients. I have sat there and I can say I have never seen such patience in the staff as when kids or adults are picking out glasses. One of the surgeries my husband had, he had to lay for a week on his stomach and couldn’t get up but for 10 minutes each hour. He watched TV through a mirror. Eye Guys found out and sent us pizza. They are amazing. THANK YOU!
