MILAN: Works with everyone

| October 28, 2016 9:00 PM

I would like to encourage voters to consider Kristi Milan for the position of State Senator from District 4. When I was the Superintendent of Schools for District 271, I worked closely with Kristi and the teacher negotiations team to resolve a labor dispute and avoid a possible strike. We were able to come together and help the teams reach agreement. Throughout the process, and others, I came to realize Kristi has the ability to work with people who have different interests and concerns and come up with positive solutions.

As a leader of teachers, she did not hesitate to ask questions that would help her understand issues and arm her to solve problems. After making inquiries, she listens to the answers carefully, then makes well-thought out decisions. This is a skill that is greatly needed in our Legislature.

After retiring from teaching, Kristi has remained active in the community. She is actively involved with the Kootenai Environmental Alliance (KEA) and the North Idaho Education Association Retired Chapter, and is a strong supporter of the Human Rights Education Institute (HREI), the Kootenai Humane Society, and the Coeur d’Alene Education Partnership (CEP). Her involvement demonstrates her passionate commitment to our community. For this reason, and many more, she will be the best person to represent us in Boise.

Vote for Kristi Milan for State Senator in District 4.
