PRESIDENT: Vote for McMullin

This presidential election is a mess. We have two candidates who would rather denigrate each other than talk about the issues, and we have an American populace who is seemingly stuck having to “vote against” a candidate rather than “voting for” their preferred option, because most of them don’t prefer either option.

Maybe I’m just young and idealistic (I’m 20), maybe I just haven’t lived through enough turmoil in our country, or maybe I’m simply naive, but I have utter disdain for the idea that I have to choose between the lesser of two evils! So I’m not. I’m voting for Independent candidate Evan McMullin, and no, I’m not wasting my vote. McMullin is in a dead heat with Trump in Utah, so one of two things could happen: Either Trump wins several swing states, and McMullin wins Utah (and perhaps Idaho?), thus sending the election to the U.S. House; or Clinton defeats Trump handily and Utah and Idaho aren’t in play. Either way, I’m voting FOR someone who shares my values, rather than merely voting against a major party nominee.

Let’s face it, Hillary is a corrupt career politician and Trump is one of the crony capitalists who has bankrolled her campaigns, and the campaigns of other career politicians, for many years. Either way we are up the creek without a paddle, cause neither of them will be good for America.
