HEARN: Superior citizen
Last week we listened to our friend Tom Hearn give a talk. Tom embodies what it means to be a community citizen. He was well prepared. He considered each question from the audience and gave thoughtful, non-scripted answers. He was especially well prepared when responding to problems in education. Tom has devoted his personal and professional life to service to others. He is fiscally conservative and is reluctant to impose his religious and family values on others through the force of law. Most important, he understands that when working together for the public, no single agenda or viewpoint dominates every decision.
We share Tom’s conviction that building and maintaining the most effective education institutions is the most important task for Idahoans today. It will be a shame if he is not elected. We need folks of quiet integrity like Tom representing us in the Legislature.
