AMADOR: Loyal, non-partisan
I have had the privilege of knowing Dr. Paul Amador and his wife, Julie, for the past two years, both professionally and socially. The longer I have known the two of them, the more I am impressed with their intelligence, poise and humility. Paul is running for Idaho Legislature, House Seat 4B, and when we elect Paul on Nov. 8 we will be getting not just one great civil servant but a truly dynamic team that will help advance our community and state. What an opportunity we have to bring in young, innovative and energetic talent into local leadership!
One would think that because I have held office in Idaho Republican politics I am obligated to support Paul due to some party loyalty. Actually, it’s quite the opposite. I respect Paul because, along with his strong conservative foundation, he has a non-partisan loyalty to all of the people and community of Coeur d’Alene. He is thoughtful, compassionate, and is willing to listen and understand the issues. For example, Paul doesn’t just state that he “supports” education. His years of experience as a teacher, researcher and administrator at the University of Idaho give him the actual experience and knowledge of how to improve education.
When I first heard that Paul was running, I had to ask him why he would run for office, considering he has a wonderful family, a great job and a good life. I was impressed with his answer. He said, “I’m not doing this for me, I’m running because I think we have an opportunity and responsibility to build a better future for Idaho’s children.” While this may sound like a campaign pitch line, those words are very representative of his character. I do not think it matters what your political leanings are; Paul Amador is the type of Representative we need down in Boise. I strongly encourage you to vote for Republican Paul Amador on Nov. 8 for Idaho House of Representatives, Seat 4B.
