SPIRIT LAKE — Sophomore Georgina Simpson recorded a hat trick — all coming in the second half — as the Timberlake Tigers beat the Kellogg Wildcats 8-0 to clinch the Intermountain League title and No. 1 seed to the 3A District 1 tournament starting on Saturday.

“Georgina has been working really hard at learning the midfield position and been learning quickly,” Timberlake coach Steve Michael said. “But the good thing is she’s enjoying it, whether she’s scoring or not. We were able to get everyone involved and moved the ball around really well. It’s always good when you can wrap up the league title.”
