| March 31, 2016 9:00 PM

COEUR d’ALENE — With excavation taking longer than anticipated, crews from the Idaho Transportation Department will need an extra week to finish safety bridge work under Pennsylvania Avenue in Coeur d’Alene.

The work, which began March 21, will now finish by April 8. The work involves excavating earth from behind the existing bridge columns for equipment access and installation of a support system.

Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The city of Coeur d’Alene will provide a detour route for traffic.
