Camp nears: The Lake City High varsity baseball team will hold a spring camp for players 8 to 13 years old on Monday and Tuesday at Lake City High.

Players 8 to 10 years old will go from 10 a.m. to noon, with players from 11 to 13 going from 1 to 3 p.m.

Cost is $50 for those preregistering to Lake City coach Paul Manzardo via email at pmmanzardo@nic.edu, or $60 at the door.

SKIING

Lookout race: Lookout Pass Ski Area hosted the Emerald Empire Youth Ski League Alpine Finals last Saturday and Sunday. Seven youth teams from the region participated and a record 209 athletes participated each day.

Saturday was the slalom course and Sunday was Giant Slalom.

SELECT SOCCER

Coeur d’Alene Sting under-12 girls gold: The Sting traveled to Seattle to play the Normandy Park FC Red club on Saturday, at the Starfire Soccer Complex in Tukwila, Wash., in PSPL Classic 1 division, and won 2-0. Goals were scored by Amber Aittama and Gabby Roberts. Isabella Lucky and Molly Foster had assists. Danika Nowak had the shutout in goal.

On Sunday the Sting traveled south to Orting, Wash., and battled the SGEOSC Fusion 03 group, a game which ended in a 1-1 draw. Amber Aittama scored the lone goal for the Sting, with Isabella Lucky having the assist.

Sting boys 00-01 Manchester United: Last weekend the Sting went to Boise and played in a three-game exchange.

In the first game Saturday, the Sting defeated Madison United 6-0. Greyden Lee scored two goals, and Dempsey Brewer, Taylor Mongan and Keaton Murpree each scored once.

Later that afternoon, the Sting beat the Idaho Rush Premier 3-2. Dempsey Brewer, Keaton Murpree each had goals, and Spencer Messina’s free kick from 45 yards away proved to be the game winner.

On Sunday morning the Sting beat MF Estudiantes 12-1. Dempsey Brewer scored four goals, Greyden Lee three, Gabe Nazemi two, and Davin Harrison and Spencer Messina scored one each.
