PREP BASEBALL: Trojans now 4-0 after pair of wins in Yakima

| March 20, 2016 9:15 PM

YAKIMA, Wash. — Sophomore Nate Buer drove in six runs on the day, four in the second game, and Post Falls was near-flawless in beating Davis High 15-2 in six innings and Eisenhower High 12-1 in five on Saturday.

In the opener at Davis, Wyatt Setien went 3 for 3, scored four runs and drove in one for Post Falls (4-0), and Dusty Weeks and Jake Pfennigs each drove in three runs.

In the second game at Ike, Matt Lebsock’s grand slam in the fifth closed out the scoring and helped the Trojans get an early start home, via the 10-run rule.

“We played pretty good baseball today,” Post Falls coach Dustin Frank said. “Our pitchers threw a lot of strikes. Our defense, between the two games, made one error. We hit the ball hard today; we scored a lot of runs. We had no baserunning errors; we just played two complete baseball games.”

Post Falls plays at Pasco on Thursday, then remains in the Tri-Cities to face Chiawana in a doubleheader Friday in Richland.
