ROTARY: Get a clue

| March 13, 2016 9:00 PM

The Rotary is an arm of the Masons? Who knew! This information most likely comes from the same source as those who call the Masonic Fraternity a “secret society.” Does anyone recall seeing a hat declaring the wearer to be a Mason? Or recall seeing a Mason wear a ring proudly displaying his membership as a Mason? Or maybe you recall driving up Fourth Street in Coeur d’Alene, or in Wallace or Sandpoint or Rathdrum and seeing a building with Masonic symbols and the name of the lodge gracing the building and making itself known to the world that is where the Masons meet.

Or maybe you heard of the Shrine Hospitals for Children and their television ads asking for pledges to help the children. Maybe you didn’t know that to be a Shriner you have to be a Mason first. Nowhere do you hear that to be a Rotarian, you have to be a Mason or vice versa. Good grief, where do these people get their information? Off the milk carton?
