Pauline Cecilia Olson, 102

Pauline Cecilia Olson, 102, was born in Valier, Mont., on June 27, 1913, and went to be with the Lord on Feb. 25, 2016. She has joined her husband, Kenneth Edgar Olson; sons Darryl Olson and Mark Olson; and son-in-law Jack Brookins.

Pauline was the youngest of nine children and her parents were John Dorchak and Anna Ordik. She attended The Montana State Normal College in 1933 and received her teaching certificate. She met her husband Kenneth and they were married on June 15, 1935. Pauline was a loving mother of 11 children. She is survived by nine of them: Frances (aka Frankie) Brookins, Vicki (David) Rundhaug, Jeannine (Bob) Burk, Joel Olson, Dennis (Hazel) Olson, Kenneth (Shirley) Olson, Rodney Olson, Maureen (Gary) Alger and Kathleen (aka Kookie) Olson (Chris Koenig). She was adored by innumerable grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Pauline held many jobs throughout her life including school teacher but her biggest joy was her children and many grandchildren. Pauline also enjoyed growing a large fruit, vegetable and flower garden. She was an excellent cook and for special occasions made milk noodles, angel food cakes and always had homemade pie. Pauline loved the Lord and was an active member of the Catholic Church her entire life.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 625 E. Haycraft Ave., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. A reception will immediately follow in the church dining hall.
