John Joseph Mackin, 51

| March 1, 2016 8:00 PM

John Joseph Mackin, 51, born May 16, 1964, in Spokane, Wash., went home to be with our Lord on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016.

John was a godly man, amazing husband, father, son, grandson, brother, papa, uncle, nephew and friend who will be sorely missed by everyone who knows him. John always put the needs of others first, he was an avid fisherman and Seahawks fan, with a wry and often outrageous sense of humor (lavished generously on us with love). He was a very hard working man, who loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and large extended family and friends. John lived in hope that everyone he loved would be saved by the life-giving faith that is our free gift through the Holy Spirit as he himself was. No one who really knew him will ever forget John Mackin.

John was preceded in eternity in Heaven by his mother, Marianne LaSalle Nee’ DeFiore in 2005, and is survived by his wife, Toni of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; children Amanda Fielder of Rathdrum, Idaho, Jennifer Mackin of Seattle, Wash., David Mackin of Spokane, Ian Mackin of Post Falls, Idaho, and Mason Mackin of Tucson, Ariz.; his grandchildren, Xzavier, Aryana, Braydon, Chance and Parker; beloved son and daughters-in-law Kenneth Fielder, Rebecca Mackin and Natasha Mackin. John is also survived by his father, Mike Mackin and his wife Sharon of Linden, Calif.; grandmother Anne LaSalle of Spokane; brothers Tim and his wife Becky Mackin of Keller, Texas, Chris and his wife Shannon Mackin of Hillsboro, Ore.; sisters Janne’ and her husband Max Jones of Linden, Calif., and Julie LaSalle and her fiancé Luke Swank of Post Falls, Idaho; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

John was a special soul with a loving selfless heart and is now gloriously enjoying Heaven for Eternity.

Services for John will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave., Coeur d’Alene.
