Jack Wooten, 75
Jack Wooten, 75, passed away peacefully in his home in Athol, Idaho, on June 22, 2016, surrounded by family, after his brave battle with cancer. He faced it with a good sense of humor as he did everything in life. He never complained. He fought a good battle to the very end, as it was his hard work ethic that he lived by.
Jack was loved by so many, his family and friends. The young and old alike held a special place in their heart for him. He loved his hunting trips and poker nights with “the boys” as much as watching his great-grandchildren pick strawberries in the yard.
Jack is survived by many, the love of his life of more than 50 years, Darlene Wooten of Athol; his children, daughter Sharlon (Steve) Maral, daughter Deborah (Troy) James and son Jack Wooten; and grandchildren Heidi (BJ) Liden, Sarah (Dan) McCracken, Travis (Kelly) Reed, Stephanie (Jeff) Morrison, Laura (Mike) Siemens and Chelsea Plunk. He will be fondly remembered by his great-grandchildren, Blake, Claire, Alyse, Lacey, Natalie, Eli, Brenna, Jenna and Edie. Other family includes sisters, Julia Wooten, Janet Felkins and Janelle Chapman; Aunt Edna Newton; nieces Alona (Hugh) Sardoff and Missy (Levi) Gray; and nephew Brad (May) Webb.
He is preceded in death by his son, Terry Dean; brother Gary Wooten and sister Pat Webb.
A “Celebration of Jack’s Life” will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016, at his Athol residence.
