WARMING: Note to visitor

| June 17, 2016 9:00 PM

We can only hope that the Stoneridge timeshare folks will warn the good people of Spirit Valley to curtail their fossil fuel burning and unsustainable land management practices when the professional engineer from Jacksonville, Fla., visits next year. Anything they can do to avert the threat of another lecture on blistering hot weather and runaway greenhouse effects (Visitor warns of even greater disaster, Press, June 12) will be greatly appreciated.

If the farmers and ranchers between Spirit Lake and Priest River will cause their cattle to burp less methane and the loggers and mill operators will shut down all that carbon dioxide emitting equipment during his stay, perhaps the greenhouse gas levels will return to a ppmv (that’s parts per million by volume for us hillbillies; I looked it up) level that supports good golfing weather. Then our visitor can jet back to JAX spewing chemtrails across the continental skies and leave us with only a short note of appreciation to remember him by.
