SHOOTING: Targeting truth
Well, guess what: the Orlando massacre is being called SENSELESS now. Oh, that should make the families feel real good. Empty, maybe, but good: nope.
Senselessly lost? If the lives were loss senselessly that could only have been because someone failed to do what was needed to keep the event from happening! Had the actions that would have deterred or stopped such an event were done by whoever is responsible, no senseless event would have occurred. So, yes, it was senseless, but only from the perspective of the victims, and their families who should be demanding accountability from who or what failed!
Meanwhile, from the perspective of ISIS and the shooter, the event absolutely was not senseless because it accomplished the first goal of all terrorism: reduce the faith of the citizenry in the ability of their government to protect them.
It’s nice that folks are gathering in the street to proclaim their solidarity with the dead, but what does that solidarity buy, really? ISIS laughs at that solidarity because it knows that it will do nothing to keep a like event from happening again. Meanwhile, large gatherings to encourage meaningless solidarity do accomplish one thing — for ISIS and/or their minions: such gatherings provide a target-rich environment.
