CHURCH: Member apologizes

| June 8, 2016 9:00 PM

I misspoke about Lake City Church not acknowledging Veterans who died on Memorial Day. I was told that at all services Pastor Rodney gave thanks to Veterans and family members and had a moment of silence at the beginning of the service. I had missed the first few minutes of the service, I apologize.

I disagree with Pastor Mike Rima for the subject of that particular day. Being a man of GOD he is in a difficult spot, what sin do we as a church accept, which poses a question for all of us?

If your are a believer, then we all are born with sin. There are many sins and which one do we pick out as being worse? Do we think homosexual sin is worse than say adultery, lust, greed and the list goes on?

Adultery, lust, these are sins behind closed doors, but homosexual sin is out of the closet now. There is no advocacy group calling for adultery, lust, etc. to unite and be accepted, not unlike the LGBT community.

I have mixed emotions on this and not sure if there is any answer that will satisfy all groups.

What I am certain about is Pastor Mike Rima. He ventures into areas that sometimes make us uncomfortable. Comparing my life to Jesus Christ, I am very uncomfortable.

So once again, I apologize to Pastor Mike for false accusations concerning acknowledgment of Veterans, on Memorial Day.
