Marshall Lasher Jr. passed away in his sleep on Thursday, May 26, 2016, in Hayden Lake, Idaho. Marshall and his late sister, Kathryne Heath, were born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and raised in its Sewickley Heights neighborhood. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served on the U.S.S. He spent his professional life in the steel products industry, managing western operations for Hubbard & Company and Midland Ross Corporation. An outdoorsman and avid bird hunter, he was active in Piedmont Boy Scout Troop 3 when his older son, John, was a Scout. However, he was best-known in Piedmont for his 17 years of service to the community as a Reserve Police Officer.
The Lasher family spent summer vacations in a cabin on Lake Coeur d’Alene and Marshall retired with his wife to Hayden Lake in 1990.
