STATS: Back 'em up

The figure 96 percent has been used by Obama, Biden and a number of congressional committees with regard to the overwhelming acknowledgment within the scientific community that there is climate change. Of course there is! (Ice age, gradual warming, gradual cooling, another ice age.)

The real question is, how much man-made activity has accelerated the process and, can the process be slowed?

Environmentalists have used the 96 percent figure to make the case that global warming is caused by the burning of fossil fuels. We cannot make steel without iron ore and coal. In many parts of the country, energy-efficient electric cars get their electricity from coal-fired power plants. (Environmentally friendly?)

The 96 percent figure was pulled out of thin air by Obama and then repeated. Was a questionnaire sent out to 100 climatologists and 96 percent responded by saying what?

1. Climate change is real — yes

2. It can be reversed — no

3. It can be slowed — maybe

But you can bet that no such questionnaire was ever sent.

Our liar-in-chief does not let facts interfere with his rhetoric. Just make stuff up and the sheep will believe it.
