LEADER: That's Matt Handelman

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader,” John Quincy Adams said. As another school year ends, the staff at Hayden Meadows would like to extend a special thank you to Superintendent Matt Handelman for his inspirational leadership.

Matt Handelman embodies characteristics that we appreciate, admire and respect. He lives out his motto of servant leadership and customer service, keeping students at the center of every outcome. No matter what challenges come his way, Matt is willing to face them head on and considers all opinions before making decisions. He promotes positive growth and changes throughout the district while maintaining focus on what is important. One of his greatest attributes is his ability to listen and act as a sounding board which inspires others to have a voice.

It is rare for a person with so many responsibilities to maintain as strong a personal connection with employees as Mr. Handelman. He is visible, professional and approachable, lending unfailing support to teachers and validating hard work. He knows staff members by name, remembers conversations and cares about people as individuals. Additionally, he is aware of learning taking place in classrooms across the district and gives time and attention to those involved. His honesty, enthusiasm and patience are unparalleled.

We are thankful our community has a man of such integrity who works hard to empower people to be their best. We could not have a better person to lead and guide us.
