PREP BASKETBALL: High school girls all-star game set for tonight
A couple of roster changes — neither affecting North Idaho players — have been announced on the eve of the 23rd annual Jack Blair Memorial Girls All-Star Basketball Classic, scheduled for tonight at 7:30 at University High in Spokane Valley.
Sienna Swannack, a sophomore from Lakeside High in Nine Mile Falls, Wash., has been added to the Region team, replacing the injured Rachel Bozlee of Northwest Christian (foot). Swannack is the sister of senior guard Shaye Swannack, a member of the Region team.
On the Metro team, Hailey Christopher, a sophomore forward from Central Valley, will miss the game due to a stress fracture, all-star game promoter Ron Adams said. She will not be replaced, he said.
The Hull twins, Lexie and Lacie, 6-1 sophomores from Central Valley, are back in town to play after making it to the second cut in tryouts for the USA 17-and-under national team last weekend.
The all-star game pits the Metro team (all-Greater Spokane League players) vs. the Region squad (players from North Idaho and elsewhere in eastern Washington).
Fans who want autographs and/or pictures with the players are asked to show up early and get them between 6:30 and 7 p.m. After that, players won’t be available until after the game, Adams said.
