LETTER: Grow up, Ekko
First of all, I can’t imagine how sad and lonely you must be. You are most likely someone who has never had love or compassion come from a woman, and for that I pity you. Women in the 1920s took a backseat because that was simply the way the world worked, and since apparently you are stuck in the ‘20s let me give you a simple run down of how the world works now.
Women will not take the back seat anymore. Women are usually receptive to nice men, who don’t come off as threatening or obnoxious. We prefer the men who don’t cat call; we prefer the men who make us feel equal and appreciated.
My guess is that you were recently turned down by a woman, and now, like the immature man you are, you decided to write your feelings to the Press. I’m so sorry that you feel the need to bash all women because you were turned down by one. Maybe instead of crying to the Press like a baby you should handle your feelings like a respectable man.
My grandmother does deserve respect, but you know what? She didn’t sit down and shut up, either. She and her generation won me the right to vote, because she didn’t conform to however you old conservative men think us women should behave. This is 2016 — the 1920s are the past — but if you would like, I would happily lend you my time traveling machine so you can go back to where you belong.
