| January 10, 2016 8:00 PM

• ROLLIE LANE INVITATIONAL

NAMPA — Two individual champions and five other placers was good enough for the Post Falls Trojans to run away with a second-straight team championship at the annual Rollie Lane Invitational on Saturday at the Ford Idaho Center.

“It’s awesome,” Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. “The kids wrestled and competed really well all weekend.”

Ridge Lovett (98 pounds) and Alius De La Rosa (145) won their respective brackets for Post Falls, which finished with 218.5 points. Crook County (Ore.) was second with 182.5.

“The biggest thing for us was the kids fought hard in the quarterfinals and semifinals,” Reardon said. “Even the kids that lost close matches fought their butts off. Overall, the kids fought hard and I was really happy with their efforts.”

Jordan Grimm was sixth at 106, Matt McLeod fourth at 120, Braydon Huber fourth at 120, Jason Burchell second at 132 and Tyler Wolf third at 138 for Post Falls.

“The cool thing is that we’ve had kids stepping up and doing some cool things,” Reardon said. “Burchell was second and didn’t place here last year. Matt McLeod had a rough Tri-State tournament, but fought back and lost a tough match in the semifinals. The kids that always do a great job did, but we had other kids step up and do some great things this weekend.”

Jared Walker lost in the finals at 182 for Lakeland, which finished ninth with five placers.

“The kids wrestled hard,” Lakeland coach Rob Edelblute said. “I thought our kids really stepped up. Jared got to the finals after not placing here last year and finished second, so it was a big weekend for him. Overall, we had some freshmen step up at 98 and it was a great performance by them.”

Sam Edelblute was third and Chandler Axtell was sixth at 98, William Edelblute fifth at 106, Larry Johnson third at 126 for Lakeland.

“Sam wrestled really hard and Larry was in one of the toughest weight classes and finished third,” coach Edelblute said. “Everyone really had a great tournament and really stepped it up.”

SPOKANE — Casey Randles of Sandpoint won the 182-pound class at the Northwest Classic at University High, leading the Bulldogs to a seventh-place finish.

Randles pinned TJ Martinez of Othello in 1 minute, 19 seconds in the championship match.

Tyler Presser (170) had his best showing of the season, advancing to the finals before falling short.

Maciosek was pinned by Clayton Gilliam of North Central at 1:43 in the 113-pound final.

“He hasn’t wrestled since before the Tri-State with a concussion,” Vikings coach Jeff Moffat said. “So he hasn’t wrestled much in three weeks. He’s back in the swing of things,”

In the 138-pound final, Lockwood took on two-time Washington state finalist Cam Sorenson and lost a close 1-0 match.

“He (Lockwood) wrestled a great match, he had trouble scoring any points,” Moffat said. “Our six placers all wrestled well. “We wrestled well and shook the rust off.”

In the 145-pound third-place match, Mario Peregrina lost by sudden victory to Collin Freeman of Othello (Wash.), 4-2. In 182-pound third-place action, Vince Rey won by injury default over TJ Martinez of Othello. Alex Marshall also placed third, in the 220-pound weight class, beating Sandpoint’s Zach Alamillo 2-1 in a tiebreaker.
