COEUR d’ALENE — Sam Dowd scored 29 points to send North Idaho College to an 85-69 win over Medicine Hat in a semifinal game in the Coeur d’Alene Inn-vitational on Thursday night at Rolly Williams Court.

Markus Golder had 22 points and 10 rebounds for NIC (11-1), which competes in the championship game tonight at 7:30 against Elite Prep, based out of Issaquah.

“Sam played really well and never came out tonight,” NIC coach Corey Symons said. “This was a good team, a SWAC (Scenic West Athletic Conference) caliber team. They’re big, strong and we came out kind of flat. It was a physical game, but Sammy played really strong and put us on his shoulders for a while there. Markus had a huge game as well.”
