CHRISTIANITY: Consider this

| December 23, 2016 8:00 PM

In the recent article, “Christmas for atheists,” Jim Hudlow stated… “I believe it was in (about) 325 of the common era that rulers then, Romans, said ‘Dec. 25, that’s what we’re going to go with.’ Most Christians don’t know that,” he said. “The Christmas tree is a pagan symbol. They used to bring them into their cabins and decorate them. Many of the things you see that seem to be Christian symbols were taken from a time prior to Christianity.”

So is Mr. Hudlow implying Christian beliefs are illegitimate because they incorporated old pagan objects and traditions? Or maybe it makes Christians closet pagans, or at least are endorsing paganism? This is a tiresome, weak and underhanded implied dig on Christianity which seems to creep up every Christmas and Easter.

Here is something to consider. Marriage is, without dispute, a religious covenant between a man and a woman first established by God as outlined in Genesis. Given Mr. Hudlow’s very same line of reasoning, homosexuals who practice the ritual of marriage, or others who endorse marriage among homosexuals, must really be closet Christians. Or at least are endorsing Christianity. I suspect Mr. Hudlow and all homosexual marriage supporters would take issue with that.
