POEM: Prayer of Peace

| December 14, 2016 8:00 PM

All the leaves of red, yellow and gold

Have fallen off the trees this autumn

Only to look barren for just a little while.

And now I watch a white blanket of snow

Silently and gently covering the trees

Where all the colors used to be.

Observing in quietude as I breathe in the beauty of nature

I reach for God’s peace to soften my heart.

Feel the silence...

Feel the beauty that surrounds me

Knowing this hope of healing is the best gift I can receive.

Join me within this peace of the Divine

Extend it to our families, our friends

Our country and all nations.

Differences matter not

Let a Prayer of Peace fill your heart.

Sometimes it takes forgiveness

Sometimes it takes love

Sometimes it takes an expression of gratitude.

Maybe if we are willing to reach out

And hold somebody’s hand for just a moment...

Peace will come.

Withdraw from each other no longer

Free ourselves from fear

And finally…

Embrace each other with love.
