ORV PARK: Wrong location
Who doesn’t love the peaceful beauty of Farragut State Park? It is such an awesome place for communing with nature and enjoying the wildlife, amazing starry nights, and peaceful campgrounds! Well, if the proposed ORV park becomes a reality, you can just kiss all of that goodbye.
The facility would create noise and light pollution that would destroy everything that so many people enjoy about Farragut State Park. The wildlife would be forced from their native habitat, and the beauty and tranquility of Farragut State Park would be forever diminished. The area of this proposed ORV park with oval race track with bleachers, campground, dog park, loading area, restrooms, RV parking, etc., is just south of Lake Pend Oreille and access would be on a rural residential road. Those of us who live on that road, as well as many in the surrounding area, are concerned about huge traffic issues, noise and light pollution, fire danger, the loss of our beloved wildlife and the overall beauty and peace that we enjoy by living out here in the boonies.
We moved here for a reason, and it was not to be close to a race track. My husband raced motorcycles for many years and we love riding on our four-wheeler, so we are NOT anti-ORV. However, this site is definitely not the right place for the proposed ORV park. Go back to the drawing board, Mr. Snyder, and find another location.
