SAN JOSE, Calif. — Markus Golder scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half as the Cardinals rallied from a 13-point deficit with eight minutes left to beat Yuba (9-2) in the semifinals of the San Jose College tournament.

Golder hit a 3-pointer with one minute left to put NIC (6-1) ahead for good against a team ranked sixth among California junior colleges.

Sam Dowd added 20 points for the Cardinals, who play Fresno City College in the title game tonight at 5.

“Markus Golder and Sam Dowd took the game over,” said NIC coach Corey Symons, who also praised the play of Jordan Henderson and Ziggy Satterthwaite off the bench. “They’ve got bigs, they’ve got guards ... it was nice to see our sophomores lead the charge down the stretch.”
