Roy Oscar Shaffer, 69

Roy Oscar Shaffer, 69, passed away peacefully in his home in Rathdrum, Idaho, from COPD. He was born Sept. 19, 1947, in Alderson, W.Va., the son of Roy Herbert and Ethel Mae (Richmond) Shaffer.

In 1965, Roy began his passion for mechanics ranging from small engines to anything that would fit in the garage. He shared his knowledge with anyone willing to learn. When he took time for himself he enjoyed time with his grandkids, hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, camping, panning for gold or any sporting or school event the kids were participating in.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Grant) Shaffer; five siblings, Juanita, Randy, Ariettia, Henry and Roy Junior; eight children, Terry Tuggle (Mike), Newman, Myssie, Dennis, Pam Harmon (Matt), Jeremiah, Tony, Gina Drayfahl (Jim) and Leeann Solis (Nate); 14 grandkids, 11 great-grandkids and loved by many others.
