TRUMP: Why we voted
I hope I speak for others of the silent, working majority who took time out of our busy days to go vote for Trump, perhaps after years of not voting. It had been 20 years for me and my husband.
We have our reasons for distrusting Hillary, and besides being old enough to remember the scandals of the first Clinton administration, we were inspired by Trump.
He’s not a saint and we all know that, but he’s the first chance of real change I’ve seen in lifetime.
For us this election had nothing to do with race. (White people have plenty of history to blush about, and don’t deny it!) It feels like the division lies mainly between the disillusioned, overworked and underpaid, and the chronically unemployed, over-breeding recipients of welfare with no wish to fend for themselves.
I won’t go on about true poverty, but I’ll tell you how well we are doing now.
Our combined income is about $25,000 a year. We have no medical insurance and never see a doctor. We don’t trust day care (and can’t afford it), so one of us is always home with our two boys while the other works for minimum wage.
I had nine days off last year. I have donated plasma more than 300 times, yet my taxes are taken and given to others while I’m informed that we live in poverty! Can’t they at least give my money to veterans and the legitimately disabled? Trump may care about them.
We don’t own a gun and I hate guns (and hunters), but honest citizens should have the right to defend themselves and their families. (Criminals will find a gun either way.)
We don’t care about the wall and don’t want to deport people — just illegals who happen to be criminals. Any refugees should have a background check before moving in.
Maybe a businessman is what our coast-to-coast business of a country needs now. Maybe he can turn things around. We have high hopes.
Most emphatically, we are fed up with being used, robbed, neglected and even scorned by the rich, elitist Establishment who don’t even understand our struggles. We are the shoulders you stand upon! (I clean your hotel rooms!)
As for those of you still protesting like ignorant crybabies, get a job! Quit making the victims of your laziness suffer on your behalf.
Life is hard, so do your part and build some character. We’re sick of carrying you and your kids while we “live in poverty.” Good luck and blessed be. May Trump make good choices.
