BOATERS: Little civility, please

We were gassing up our boat at Templin’s Marina gas dock and could not believe how many boaters have no clue what a no-wake-zone is! The staff at the gas dock have a siren that they blast and ask boaters to slow down, yelling, “Please slow down — no wake zone from the bridge to the no-wake buoy.” We saw boaters flip them off, one yelled to _____ off… I could not believe it!

It is hard to put gas into a boat when it is bobbing up and down from some rude or ignorant boater! The fine is $350. Perhaps we should station a sheriff’s deputy there on a PWC and issue tickets all weekend long. I’m sure the fines would more than pay for the expense. Also, it seems that many of us have completely lost our civility. If nothing else, can we all be just a bit more respectful?
