RASMUSSEN: A friend indeed

| April 29, 2016 9:00 PM

I met Duane Rasmussen in 2002 when I was campaigning for judge. My wife and I have strong beliefs about Duane as a candidate for county commissioner.

In 2008, my wife was very ill and Blue Cross sent her to be treated at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Of all the people who helped us during that time of great worry, Duane was the one who came through the most. April was in dire straits and it was a time of real fear. We needed someone to help and really come through right then. Duane did not flinch or hesitate. Within hours, he and I were in his car and drove three days (1,500 miles) to the Mayo Clinic. We were there several weeks. Duane spent his time, effort and money helping us when we were desperate and needed him. That is the kind of man he is and the kind of man that is needed as a county commissioner.

Another time I was at KMC after receiving dire news from April’s doctor that she might die that very evening. I called for Duane to come over and sit with me for moral support just in case, and Duane came through again. I could say more, but the bottom line is that Duane is loyal and always came through. He deserves your vote because he is dependable, decent and honest.
