Millie Fisher, 92

Millie Fisher passed peacefully in her sleep on April 14, 2016, in Spirit Lake, Idaho. Born Millie Hamby to William and Hulda Hamby on Nov. 5, 1923, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, she was the ninth of 11 children, all of which preceded her in death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Slim Fisher. She is survived by a large family who loved her dearly; her children and their spouses: Peggy and Larry Johnson, Joe and Betty Mastrude, Tom Fisher and Jim Thompson, and Tammy and Byron Hatley; her grandchildren, Rob, Steve, Dave, Brenda, Peggy, Spencer, Renee and Brandon; as well as 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Millie was a wonderful and strong woman, whose accomplishments in life are innumerable. She will be remembered as a loving foster mother of many different children, a dude ranch cook, a school bus driver and owner of Millie’s Mayfair Café in Yakima, Wash.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls, Idaho. There will be a potluck afterward at Pines Park (on Spokane Street) in Post Falls. Please view and sign Millie’s online registry at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
