| April 23, 2016 9:00 PM

Barbara (Bobbi) Jean Hill, 79, died of a brain aneurysm April 14, 2016, in Austin, Texas, while traveling with her devoted husband, Ron. She was born in San Francisco to Alice and Jack Hillman in 1936. Bobbi was raised in San Luis Obispo, Calif., where her mother and grandmother owned a maternity and children’s clothing store.

As a young woman she worked as an X-ray technician for a doctor’s office in San Luis Obispo. In 1964, she married the love of her life, Ronald Hill. After moving to Southern California, they had two sons, Matthew and Glenn. The desire for a slower pace of life drew them to Coeur d’Alene, where they opened AAMCO Transmissions, which they owned and operated until 1999. They attended St. Pius X Catholic Church and later became members of Coeur d’Alene Bible Church. Bobbi spent many years studying God’s word and enjoyed Bible Study Fellowship.

Bobbi loved to knit and blessed many family and friends with her amazing skill. She also loved to ski in her younger days, and travel, especially to anywhere sunny! Most of all she loved her family. She was extremely proud of her husband and sons. Bobbi and Ron celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2014. Since 1995, she has been Ron’s No. 1 fan, traveling the globe as Ron competed in XTERRA off road triathlons while Bobbi served as a faithful volunteer for XTERRA events.

Bobbi is survived by her husband, Ron; sons Matt (Tanya) and Glenn (Amy); grandchildren: Emily, Allen, Davis, Elsa, Esther, Zane and Zoe Hill, all of Coeur d’Alene.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Coeur d’Alene Bible Church, with visitation both before the service beginning at 2 p.m. and immediately following. A reception will also follow the service. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, is entrusted with the final arrangements.
