COEUR d’ALENE — Kylie Smith, Breana Burke and Halle Kane drove in two runs each for the Coeur d’Alene Vikings in the first game of a 10-0, 10-0 sweep of the Post Falls Trojans in 5A Inland Empire League play on Friday at Larry Schwenke Field.

Burke struck out eight and walked none in the first game for Coeur d’Alene, which scored nine runs in the fifth inning.

“We really spread it around and everyone scored but one player,” Coeur d’Alene coach Darren Taylor said. “It was a really good team effort. We started off really slowly, but it was a pretty good fifth inning and went a little crazy.”

Smith had two RBIs and scored three runs and Kaylin Donovan scored three runs in the second game for Coeur d’Alene (9-0, 4-0 5A IEL), which hosts Lewiston in a doubleheader on Wednesday.

Alexis Demute had hits in both games for Post Falls (6-4, 0-4), which plays at Lake City on Tuesday.
