A total of 49 players competed in an event where course workers tried to simulate conditions at Augusta National for the Masters — super-quick greens, for one. The course was stretched to the tips — 7,433 yards, including the 777-yard par-6 ninth hole. The Links put up $500 for the winner, and there was a three-way tie for first, with each taking home $170.
