Small-batch flavors at Sweet Peaks

Gourmet ice cream made in small-batch flavors is the specialty of Sweet Peaks Ice Cream. The new store at 108 N. Fourth St. (next to Moose Lounge) has its soft opening Friday and opens officially Saturday and Sunday.

The family-run business makes and sells its own ice creams in unique flavors. Founded in 2010, Sweet Peaks has stores in Missoula, Bigfork, Whitefish and Kalispell, Mont., and an ice cream food truck operating from a modified horse trailer.

With Noelle Otersen-Loparco as manager, hours will be noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays in the spring. Sam and Marissa Dauerhauer are the owners. Phone 666-0832. Check www.sweetpeaksicecream.com.

Evergreen Home Loans opens on Ironwood

Residential mortgage lending is the specialty of Evergreen Home Loans now open at 1118 W. Ironwood Drive.

Founded in 1987 by Donald Burton, the company has 40 branch offices in six western states with other Idaho offices in Sandpoint and Meridian. The Coeur d’Alene location is staffed by Cathy Pizzini, senior lending manager, and Matthew Squire and Greg Larson, loan officers.

The new location for Empire Eye Physicians opens Monday at 2175 N. Main St. in Riverstone.

Primary doctors are Mark Kontos, specializing in ophthalmology, laser cataract surgery and iLASIK, and David Skale, a retina surgeon.
