NIC students earn awards

| April 1, 2016 9:00 PM

Two North Idaho College graphic/Web design students took home gold and silver honors at the 2016 Spokane American Advertising Awards recently.

The “Addy Award” program is one of the biggest of its kind in the area, with the regional awards processing 459 entries. All gold and silver awards are eligible for the district competition with winners of that progressing to the national level.

“These students are currently in school while working in the field through internships and full-time job opportunities. Their dedication and time management are exemplary and they are fully prepared to enter the workforce,” said Philippe Valle, NIC graphic design instructor.

Student Joseph Reimer earned a Gold Addy for his unique packaging design for Land Rover. Olivia Livoni earned a Silver Addy for her photograph entitled “Iced.”

“This Gold Addy Award and my future in a creative field were made possible by the education I received,” Reimer said. “I am very excited to take the next steps.”
