Auction benefits STEM Charter Academy

| April 1, 2016 9:00 PM

Proceeds from North Idaho STEM Charter Academy’s April 7 fundraising auction will be used to build a STEM projects laboratory at the school.

Plans call for a 40-by-60-foot building where students at the Rathdrum charter school can build and store robots and other projects.

The event features live and silent auctions. Live auction items include a Date Night Package with gift certificates for dining, lodging and more; a Family Fun Package with passes to Triple Play, Silverwood, Skate Plaza and other attractions; a plane ride; accommodations at Catalina Island; a river rafting trip; handmade Adirondack ski chairs and table; and more. There are more than 55 items in the silent auction.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served and wine and beer will be available. Tickets are $50 each for adults or $500 for a corporate table.

The new science labs — funded by proceeds from last year’s auction and a donation from the Greene Idaho Foundation — will be open for tours during the fundraiser. The foundation’s $75,000 donation and additional proceeds totaling $110,000 made it possible for the K-12 charter school to build not just one, but two new labs.

In addition to the auction, the school is raising money for the lab by raffling off a Thanksgiving vacation in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The winning ticket holder will also receive a $1,000 VISA gift card.

Tickets and more information on the auction and raffle are available at the school website, www.northidahostemcharter.org or by calling (208) 687-8002.
